Nigerian Immigration Recruitment Requirement

These requirements include the followings.
- Applicants must be a citizen of Nigeria by birth or naturalization, but applicants with dual citizenship are not accepted.
- For higher categories, applicants must have the least first degree from a reputable and accredited intuition.
- Candidates for the lower cadre must have passed O-level and have 5 passes in either WAEC or NECO, with credit in English and Mathematics.
- A candidate must not have a criminal record in the past and must have a record of good character conduct.
- Age: A candidate must be between the age of 18 to 30 at the period of application, though some position has a higher age limit.
- Candidate with proficient knowledge of computer and the use of the internet has a high advantage because immigration service workers require highly skilled computer knowledge. If you don’t have computer knowledge, kindly proceed to a few months of computer training to get yourself acquainted with some profitable computer packages, for example, Microsoft word, PowerPoint presentations, excel and internet packages.
- An applicant is expected to be physically and mentally fit to carry out the duties of the positions they are applying for.
- Proficiency in the English language is also an advantage to applicants. You should have the ability to speak and write in English fluently.
- Professional work experience is required in some positions. Some positions may require professional experience in some related field.

Available Position for Nigerian Immigration Recruitment
The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) recruit candidates for various positions at different levels within the agency. - Assistant Superintendents of Immigration (ASI) – This position is available for candidates with degrees or their equivalent. Officers in this category are responsible for enforcing immigration laws, issuing travelling documents and providing efficient customer service.
- Immigration Officer (IO) – This position is also available for candidates with degrees or lent’s. Some of the duties attached to this position include enforcing immigration laws, issuance of travel documents and providing thorough customer service.
- Assistant Controller of Immigration (ACI) – This position is a supervisory role. Application for this position requires a degree or its equivalent with several years of work experience. Your duties will include – Supervising Immigration officers and enforcing immigration laws.
- Controller of Immigration (CI) -This very position is a senior management position. Application for this position requires a degree or its equivalent with several years of experience in a similar management position. Duties for this position include managing the operation of the agency, enforcing immigration laws, and providing leadership training and skill acquisitions for immigration officers.
- Assistant Controller General of Immigration (ACG) – It is also a senior management position. It requires good experience to perform the task attached to this office.
- Deputy Superintendent of Immigration (DSI) – Requires a degree in Pharmacy from a recognised intuition with an NYSC discharge certificate.
- Inspector of Immigration (IM) – This position is available for candidates with RM or RN or individuals with certificates. The candidate must also have attended the Registration of Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMC)
- Assistant Inspector of Immigration AII) – Candidates be a holder of ND, NCE or its equivalent. It’s a general duty position, you will require personal skills to be successful in this position
- Immigration Assistant III (IA III) – This position requires a candidate to be a holder of GCE Ordinary Level, SSCE, WAEC or NECO. Officers on this cadre will be placed on general duty.
- Immigration Assistant III (IA III) – This position is for Artisans, therefore, applicants must be a mechanic or motor drivers.
